Fleming Island is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Clay County, Florida, United States. It is located 21 miles southwest of downtown Jacksonville, on the western side of the St. Johns River, off US 17. As of the 2010 census the Fleming Island CDP had a population of 27,126

This bridge will take you across the St. John's River into Fleming Island.  You can find a boat to rent at the Fleming Island Marina. You can boat to downtown Jacksonville in about an hour if you wish to explore the downtown area and restaurants.
